002. Customer Portal & Full Website Using Salesforce Commerce on Core – B2B ou D2C (B2C)
Super important to understand that the user experience (frontend) of Commerce on Core uses the Salesforce Experience Cloud, acting as components running on this cloud. The evolution of Experience Cloud has evolved since its first release, continually bringing improvements in functionality, security and performance. Their evolutions were in that order: Aura => LWR => LWR enhanced. LWR lasted a short time before being evolved to LWR Enhanced. Today we have only Aura and LWR Enhanced available. LWR stands for Lightning Web Runtime.
In terms of B2B and D2C Commerce we still have a single client using the Aura version, but already in roadmap for migration in 2025. All the others already use LWR Enhanced.
The number of new standard components available on LWR Enhanced's templates in B2B and D2C (B2C) licenses, have practically doubled in quantity compared to the old ones in aura.
Our view is that we do not implement Salesforce Commerce on Core, but a Customer Portal or a Full Website, where sales on online stores is the most important service pulling all the others. Once a sale is made, the challenge is engaged and selling more. And the best way for this is to provide more and more services that can engage the customer through a 24 -hour channel. Another very important differential is high availability. We have clients who in 28 months of operation never had any portal interruption.
